• I need to see all the content from my localhost copy that I just moved from online, the issue is that it is not showing the pages and the original design, is there something that I am missing?

    Thanks

  • Depending on how you went about the import, you would still need to move your content (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Tools_Import_SubPanel) using the corresponding Import option under the Tools menu.

You would also need to copy/paste your theme into your “themes” folder within your localhost file structure for it to appear as an option to switch to under the Themes setting.

Thank you Allisonplus, I used that option, and got pages, menus content but didn’t get the widgets content.

Is there a process or a plugin there to make the import or the transfer more complete?

I like using Duplicator (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/duplicator/) but it does require decent technical knowledge. It does, however, capture everything – a true duplicate of the website.

Other options include using FTP and MySQL Dump to export the files and database from one server and bring it to another. But then you’ll need to manually update URL strings in the database to reflect the updated URLs.
