• Hello,

I have a WP multisite (with several sub-domain sites: x.domain.com, y.domain.com, z.domain.com,… on the same server). How I add a new sub-site on another server, by maintaining the fast loading? (I am using WP Rocket).

Will I have to split the database between two servers, but the WordPress core files should remain on the existing server? Or will I have to redirect the new database to the existing database? Which one is the best for fast loading, please?

    Thank you.

Anto, I’m not sure I understand your question.

Are you asking how you can create another subdomain (for instance: n.domain.com) OUTSIDE the multisite network? You can definitely do that– you would just create the subdomain directory (you probably won’t even need to actually create a subdomain in cPanel, since you already have wildcard domains going!), and install single site WP in it. It will need it’s own separate database.

I have no idea how this would integrate with WP Rocket. You will need to contact their support to learn about that.

    Thank you, Bet.

I would like to create another subdomain (for instance: n.domain.com) not OUTSIDE but INSIDE the multisite network, on another server.

    Ex.:
    – domain.com, x.domain.com, y.domain.com, z.domain.com,… on the same server.
    – n.domain.com is in the same network, but on another server.

    Is it possible, please?

    If it is possible, how?

Thank you again for your precious help.

Nope. Not possible. “inside the network” means that it’s database tables are a part of the one network database.

I suppose that you might be able to split the database over two servers, but I don’t think you can do this with one subsite specifically.

Thanks a lot, Bet, for your prompt reply.

    Have a nice day ??

Maybe you can use HyperDB plugin? (which is behind WordPress.com)
You juste have to specify that some tables are stored on another MySQL server ??
