WP not allowing indexing by search engines

    Just took the site live at https://lukeadamsconsulting.com and it is not allowing me to select “Allow search engines to index this site” under privacy settings. I select it, click “Save Changes” and it reverts back to “Ask search engines not to index this site.” Why? What do I do?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Why are you launching a site running an older copy of WordPress?
