WP Not Generating Image Sizes

  • Hello – I’m working off of a custom theme built from the ground up using Starkers. When I use the WP Image Uploader, only the Full Size image is being generated and placed into the Uploads folder. I’ve deactivated plugins and I’ve tried adding the add_image_size code to the functions.php file and nothing happens. I’ve checked the wp-includes/media.php file and nothing was altered in it, so is there a piece of code missing somewhere else along the line to have this functionality? I’m not sure what code to show in order to help the situation. Thanks!

  • If you’ve added the image sizes to the functions.php file, you’ll need to regenerate thumbnails for images that have already been uploaded to the site. Hope this helps.

    Unfortunately it doesn’t. Even with the add_image_size code in place I can’t get new uploads to generate other file sizes and I can’t regenerate thumbnails out of old files. Unless I manually upload files of other sizes I can’t do anything, which I realize some people would be happy about, but I am mostly looking to be able to have easy access to 150 x 150 px thumbnails for galleries.
