The plugin doesn’t seem to be working when I don’t have the local media on my server. Is it possible to make it compatible with WP Offload Media please (I’m using it with Amazon S3 Bucket)?

    Hi @enthousiastwpuser ,

Currently Regenerate Thumbnails will only work on locally stored media, that is on your site.

It does not work with externally stored media files, unfortunately. I also do not see any plans to make it compatible with externally stored media.

    Hi @dericleeyy

Alright I see, so the only way is to download the file from bucket to server before trying to regenerate thumbnails with your plugin?

If we proceed like that your plugin is working great with WP Offload Media, right?

    Hi there, @enthousiastwpuser,

I checked the WP Offload Media support pages, and I found this bit which I hope helps:

If an offloaded Media Library item is permanently deleted, then WP Offload Media will remove its files from the bucket too.

As mentioned in Automatic Updates, tools like Regenerate Thumbnails can be used to force the removal of thumbnail sizes that are no longer needed. When a tool like that runs, WP Offload Media will remove those files from the bucket.

Does it answer your question at all?
