    Hi Folks,

Version 3.1.6 conflicts with ‘All In One SEO Pack’ and changes much of the Social Media data – including post title – to the point where it is unusable.

Reverting to v3.1.5 solves the issue.

What amazed me was that your plugin was NOT ACTIVATED at the time of the auto-update – yet it still caused problems.

FYI, below are the changes made on my last post.

    Regards and thanks,
    Angus

    3.1.6: <meta name=”twitter:title” content=”God Has a Plan for Your Life ~ by Travis Coffey” />

    end

  • Hi Angus,

What amazed me was that your plugin was NOT ACTIVATED at the time of the auto-update – yet it still caused problems.

This isn’t really possible, as plugins that aren’t activated are not run at all.

Reverting to v3.1.5 solves the issue.

This shouldn’t make any difference, as v3.1.6 only fixes a fatal error in v3.1.5.

So it’s hard to tell what triggered the issue, but I don’t believe WP-Optimize did.

Downgrading WP-Optimize might have triggered your page cache to be purged, resulting in the issue to go away.

I’ll test ‘All In One SEO Pack’ to make sure, but what you describe is very unlikely, or even impossible.

    Best wishes,
    Marc.

    Hi Mark @marcusig

Yes, I agree with what you say, but that is what happened.

When the problem arose I flushed out all the caches and made an identical post but got the same results.

Then I went to the only plugin which had updated since my last successful post – WPOptimize – and rolled that back, even thought it was deactivated at the time.

Then the next test post and subsequent posts have worked fine.

Since all this, ‘All In One SEO Pack’ (AIOSP) have carried out a major update, and I have been too preoccupied to see it that version has the same issue.

FYI, This is not the first time I have thought there were conflict issues between AIOSP and WPOptimize, as a lot of my AIOSP image links vanish randomly. I mean hundreds of links at a time, just ‘vanish’. They are all in the same data-set as this problem and are Facebook and Twitter OG: images.

However, I have not been able to prove what it is, as it is sporadic and I cannot repeat it.

Hence I only turned on WPOptimize to clean the database occasionally, and then turned if off. That certainly made a distinct reduction in the number of missing links, but as I never know what has gone, I cannot test for it or find the locations of the missing links.

In the meantime I have removed WPOptimize, but will come back to it then this round of updated versions is complete – in a month or two. I just don’t have the time or expertise to keep replacing missing image links.

    Regards and thanks,
    Angus

I have experienced the same issue, but it seems to happen mostly with Twitter Cards. If the WP-Optimize is active, I cannot share Twitter cards on Twitter – the error states the card is too large to render. However, if I deactivate WP-Optimize, the Twitter cards will post. Also, I have seen the social media cards disappear and reappear. I never made the connection to WP-Optimize until reading the post above. Please advise the best method to resolve. I would like to keep WP-Optimize running. As of now, I have to turn off the plugin to share posts to social media.

    Hey @marcusig,

AIOSEO dev here. Just let us know in case we can be of assistance here. FYI, we completely rebuild the plugin from the ground up and released the new version just a few days ago so our codebase has significantly changed.
