Thank you for sharing the detailed video of your issue. It looks like WP-Optimize is taking a long time to process the images. From the video, I noticed you have Wordfence firewall installed, and it’s possible that it is blocking the external service API requests that WP-Optimize uses for image compression. WP-Optimize relies on the reSmush.it API for this purpose.

To resolve this, you can try whitelisting the reSmush.it API in Wordfence. Go to “Firewall” -> “All Firewall Options” in Wordfence. Scroll down to “Advanced Firewall Options” and add https://api.resmush.it to the whitelist. You can find more details about this process in the reSmush.it API documentation.

If whitelisting doesn’t help, try temporarily disabling Wordfence to see if the image compression process completes without the firewall enabled. You can do this by going to “Wordfence” -> “Firewall”, clicking on “Manage Firewall”, and then disabling it. This will help determine if the firewall is indeed the source of the issue.

After performing these steps, try running the image compression again. If it works with Wordfence disabled, then it confirms that the firewall was blocking the API requests. You can then adjust the firewall settings to allow the necessary API calls. If the issue persists even after whitelisting, please drop a message at reSmush.it Contact and share the ticket ID with us for follow-ups. Let me know how it goes, and if you need further assistance, I’m here to help!
