After extensive testing of a problem where the desktop loads Google Fonts but the mobile doesn’t, I have found that only by turning off Minify for CSS will the mobile browser display the Google Fonts.

I have tested the problem with OMGF (on and off).

There is some problem in how the minify process is delivering the CSS to the mobile browser which fails to unpack the Google Fonts.

I’ve seen other posts with similar issues which were supposedly fixed in a prior release but seemingly there is still no solution I am aware of other than disabling Minify for CSS files.

Has anyone found a work around to fix the Google Fonts Minify issue?

  • @samdobrow Could you please try to uncheck the option “Enable merging of CSS files” from WP-Optimize > Minify > CSS and check if it helps to fix the issue?
