Hi, when I upload a image using formidable forms something (most likely wp-optimize) creates super many copies of my images. Is there any way to optimize this so its not spamming my server with copies of images? Does not seem to be that optimized really ??</img>

It creates 7 extra copies outside of my WP-standard ones.

You can deselect the options to create a WebP version and to take a backup.

I bought the PRO version but refunded because the minify did not work at all and lazyload works better in Perfmatters. I tell you this, because I use the free version now and it states in my settings “No WebP conversion tools are available on your web-server”. But still it creates webp versions (I have never had any other image optimizer on my website). Any idea what to do?

EDIT: I uninstalled the PRO version and installed the free plugin a while ago.

In your hosting, you need to enable the following php extensions:
    imagick and gd

@vupdraft they are and have been active on the server the whole time. I should mention this is a new message just now.

The thing is that the images are converted to webp on the server atleast.

Any idea what more to check?

Are you using an ngix server, what is the URL of your site?

    Hi,

Apologies for the delay, your site is definately creating WebP images and

I went to your site, got the URL of one of your images https://www.arbetssokande.nu/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/arbetssokande-bli-sedd.png

and added webp to the end

https://www.arbetssokande.nu/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/arbetssokande-bli-sedd.png.webp and the webp version is there

?I think the issue may lie with your rewrite rules

Can you check if mod_rewrite is active on the server?

No worries, I am glad you help out ??

Isnt that strange since your plugin says its not available anymore? ??</img>

Do you know how I check that? I will try to figure it out, but if you happen to know I am very happy for your help.

Apologies for the delay, the easiest way would probably be to ask your hosts

Its active. I also checked in the htcaccess file.

What more can I do? I have perfmatters plugin to handle lazyload – could that effect this?

If you disable perfmatters, does the issue persist?

    Thread Starter flamuren

    (@flamuren)

Yes still the same problem after deactivating perfmatters.

My website dont use webp but instead the original photo file. However when I look in the media library the pictures are reported as compressed by WP optimize and as you found there is a copy of the webp if we add it to the end of the url.

I build my website with the help of elementor PRO – if that could effect this? Because when I use the browser inspection there is a lot of wrapping(?) of elementors code around the images. They add code for lazy loading etc even if I have their feature deactivated. I cant deactivate elementor because that is what builds my website also. Any way to test this hypothosis?
