• The plugin often works for us, so giving 2 stars as per the rating system for its functional state.

3 stars taken off for uncertainty of future for the plugin and developer conduct.

The devs don’t adhere to the spirit of the GPL license, and actively mask the limitations of the free version with bait-and-switch tactics.

Additionally, the devs attempted to harm the career of a user of this plugin for simply relating a code modification allowed in the license. This could happen to you!

They apparently like the benefits of GPL but not its drawbacks. Now that the user-base is large, they may pull it from the repo into a pay-wall.

WP.org users can do better than being attacked for no logical reason. Good riddance.

I see that you are using two of our plugins – All-in-One Events Calendar and All-in-One WP Migration

Events Calendar has been on WordPress since 2012 – 6 years
WP Migration has been on WordPress since 2014 – 4 years

Both plugins are here to stay and there is no uncertainty about any of them.

I don’t know what you are talking about when you say that we are harming the career of a user of the plugin – can you please explain?

Appreciate the clarification. I’d like to continue using these plugins despite my reservations and will monitor the situation. Perhaps my information is wrong. If so I will continue the use of your plugins, apologize and change my rating.

I don’t have permission from the plugin user to mention them by name, but they are a popular content creator. It was related to me personally that your company was actively flagging their content for abuse when no such abuse occurred.

This action by your team was allegedly sparked by publicly showcasing code modifications allowed in the GPL. If you’re unaware of the user in question, I’ll await further information before a final assessment.

I certainly hope this is a mistaken assumption on the users’ part.

??Let me know when you know more about it.

We are using a service that monitors for illegitimate use and resale of our non-GPL products and fills abuse notices. It fills a lot of reports every day. Maybe it is related.

We appreciate all reviews here good and bad – it helps us and the community. Thank you for participating!
