Well, honestly, I guess I might just let it go. At this point it doesn’t seem any easier than just manually putting the images in the way I’ve done it in the past. ?? Since I don’t use pictures in the blog very frequently I’m thinking in retrospect that there’s no need for this for me. But maybe I’m missing something.
Ideally I’d like something that would automatically generate small images (to place on the blog page) that link automatically to a large image when clicked on, and could be selected within the blog edit window from anywhere on my HD. But that might be asking a bit much from a hack! ??

    This hack doesn’t do that.

    Alex,
I now have the hack running, but I have one last problem with the layout on the page. The photo is spilling out of the posting box. For an example, compare my page with one of yours, specifically the posting “Cool sky tonight”.
I tried putting extra tags into the posting, but that didn’t work. Is there a trick that you used, or do you think it might be an error in my layout file?
    Cheers,
    Dave

Sorry, didn’t know you couldn’t use regular HTML. I’ll try again:

For those who are trying to get wp-photos to work with 1.1, you will have to add $c =1 back in the wp-blog-header.

ok, i guess i am really retarded.
    i am not getting this.
where does this go? i dont have an edit.php file.
    4) Add this to edit.php before the
tag and after the Edit/Delete links at line 275:
    <?php include_once(‘../wp-photos.hack.php’); wpphotos_link(); ?>

holy crap. ok i figured it out.
i had hack file enabled. and it would let me see anything.
so if i have nothing in my hack file, it wont show my index page?

I just recently started using WordPress and this looked like a pretty cool hack but like some other people in this thread; I had problems getting it installed. Once I WP-Photo running, I went back and wrote a little tutorial detailing how I got it working. You can read my tutorial here.

Can’t we figure out some way to automate this hack a bit more? Make the files uploadable via the post function screen and the ability to create folders from the same screen…and also have it automate the making of thumbnails…it can be done correct?

I built the hack to work the way I wanted it to work and made it available for download. I don’t like uploading via a web interface, I don’t like auto-created thumbnails and I don’t like auto-resized images. As a result, it doesn’t do any of these things.

Looks like you have a space between the < and the ? in the opening PHP tags.

I like this hack and have used it successfully with wordpress 1.1… but I just upgraded to the most recent nightly release of wordpress and have found a significant difference between the two versions. Where do you envision putting the wp_photos hack include statement (previously in edit.php) in the 1.2 release?
