WP Plugin 1.10.2 No Longer displays Menu Item

SendGrid WP Plugin version 1.9.5 works fine for us when activated on selected subsites of our WP 4.6.1 Multisite networks (we have multiple networks)

However, we previously ceased upgrading the plugin at v1.9.5 because each higher version exhibited javascript issues. After each version upgrade we rolled back to 1.9.5. Finally we decided to upgrade to 1.10.2 and upon doing so the menu item for SendGrid settings disappeared and all mail sending from the sites ceased.

There were no errors in our logs and Debug bar reported no errors.

Because there were no errors associated with the upgrade we did not notice the site had ceased sending emails until users began reporting no longer receiving various site emails.

Downgrading back to SendGrid plugin v 1.9.5 and everything works fine.

The plugin is NOT network activated as some users have their own email sending accounts with different vendors so we only activate the SendGrid plugin site by site to allow subsite admins to configure their own email sending methods as preferred.

Please advise if other users are experiencing the same loss of email sending capability with v 1.10.2. and/or if a fix will be forthcoming.

    Thanks,
    Phil D

After reading some of the other threads, this issue may be because the SendGrid plugin now expects to be network activated.

One thread indicates that when it is network activated, then the settings are only accessible via the network admin dashboard and are no longer accessible per site on each site’s admin dashboard.

Unfortunately that will not work for us because different site owners on our multisite network have their own Send Grid or other email provider accounts and need to be able to configure their email provider credentials for their subsite on the network.

These threads indicate how multisite compatibility needs to function:

    Hi.

The functionality to allow each subsite to add it’s own configuration for sending emails via the SendGrid plugin was added since version 1.10.5.

We will close this topic. If you encounter any issues we encourage you to start a new thread.

    Hello,

I just installed version 1.10.7 and it seems to be working as expected.

Thank you for improving your plugin and making it fully multisite compatible.

To help increase adoption and use of your plugin now that it works well with multisite networks AND also accommodates network activation PLUS site-by site configuration (AWESOME!!!) , I recommend you emphasize these new features to the public in the plugin literature and WP repository description. It will be a shame for your work and these excellent features to be overlooked by those seeking an email solution for their multisite networks.

    Thanks
