WP Popular Posts & Slow Queries

    We use your plugin to display popular posts and view counts, and are seeing its queries come up repeatedly in our slow query logs.

    In researching this, I came across many posts like this one from two years ago where you mention working on optimizing the queries in your plugin to address this. It still appears to be an issue.

    Do you have any updates on progress in addressing this?
