wp-recent links on static page?

I’m not familiar with that plugin, but I imagine it could be done. Does the plugin just tell you to insert a template tag into the sidebar? If so, then you would just need to insert that tag into a page instead.

This is the code you have to insert:

If I put it on a page I just get that code on it. Any other thoughts would be helpful.

What if you took your index.php, strip out the loop and insert that code instead. Then save as recentlinks.php or something. Upload into your theme, and then write a page (leaving it totally blank, except the name) and use the recentlinks.php as the Page template.

According to the developer, this is an easy way to make a static page for the recentlinks.php file. However, I am not fanilliar with orogramming at all. Could someone give me some instructions about how to do it?
