WP redirects to the wrong front page

What permalink structure are you using? Did you try reverting to the default permalink structure via Settings -> Permalinks?

I have chosen “month and name”.

Yes. When I reverted to “plain” it loaded the correct front page.

Now try setting your custom month/name structure back up again. If that works, then it sounds like you had some minor corruption in your site’s .htaccess file.
