    This plugin appears to disable the standard search (removes /?s=term) and only redirects to the adverts page, in my case “classifieds”.

    Is this the intended behaviour? If so I would like to request a workaround to allow searching WordPress normally for posts and authors etc.

    thanks!!

    Hi,
    WPAdverts does not disable the default WordPress search, i am checking this functionality on my dev site right now (with TwentyTwelve theme) and it seems to be working fine.

    On your site in the HTML source i noticed that the search form has a hidden field

    <input type="hidden" name="post_type" value="advert">

    So when you search the actual search URL is https://madison.countypickers.com/?s=test&post_type=advert (by default it should be just https://madison.countypickers.com/?s=test). This is causing a redirect, but the field is not a part of the default search widget, so i cannot really tell where is it coming from.

    You can try disabling other plugins you have installed on site one by one and see when and if the problem goes away, if it does not then you can try switching the theme to TwentyTwelve and see if this will help.
