WP Seems Very Slow

  • Could you some help here with my WP installation. Seems like it takes about 3-5 seconds for pages to load, not normal I’d say. I have a lot of WP / server-side tweaks too so I’m baffled.

  • Are you displaying blog posts on your front page? if so how many? try reducint that number.
    What kind of response do you get if you disable ALL your plugins?
    Do you have images on the site? How big are they?
    Have you tried using the Net option of the FireFox extension to see what is taking the time?
    Are you grabbing things from other sites?

    Sorry but what “net option” are you referring to? What FF extension is that?

    I’m not running the blog on the homepage, just pages. I use the site as a business site. Images are few and not large in size. I cannot disable all plugins as that will completely mess up the site due to it’s dependence on the frameworks and some crucial plugins.

    I pull one external thing only, Google font (one font).

    Sorry, Try teh FireBug extension – one of it’s options is NET and it will show you how lone each request on the page takes.
