WP shopping cart not showing item when add to cart is clicked the first time?

Hello, I offered to help a friend with their WP site, but I can’t figure it out, hopefully someone here can steer me in the right direction! The issue seems to be when the site is accessed for the first time then you go to the ‘store’ select an item then click ‘add to cart’ nothing shows up on the ‘Shopping cart’ page… however if you click ‘store’ again and then add an item by clicking ‘add to cart’ it shows up perfectly fine as it should? The cart seems to work but it doesn’t always show up when ‘add to cart’ is selected? Sometimes it does show up correctly though? I’ve read about plugins maybe causing issues, I tried deactivating all plugins but WP shopping cart and the issue was still happening? I updated the shopping cart to v3.8.7 and the problem remains?

Something weird I just noticed, when I view the ‘store’ page the items are there with pictures etc. but when I click ‘edit page’ there is nothing showing? But its on the site… Geez I’m stumped. If anyone can offer any ideas that would be much appreciated!! Thank you!
