• How easy is it if I have a single install (with custom plugins) to convert that into a multisite with the same custom plugins available to each install?

    Hehe Very clever =].

I think I should specify. I already have the domain sub.domain.com. I would like domain.com do be the primary domain. I created sub.domain as a test (with custom plugins) that I would like to have as a multisite where users can create their own (custom.domain.com) that has the same feats. as sub.domain.com. How will this work if I already have a sub.domain.com?

    Thanks

Either delete sub.domain.com or put the ‘sub’ word in your banned names filter to stop people from using it.

Ok, so say I delete the sub.domain.com (backed up on my comp of course). Then I create a multisite. How easy is it to convert single install plugins into multisite, or is there any conversion needed/ will it work the same?

Most of the time, no conversion is needed. Bear in mind there are different types of plugin activation:

Network Activation means the plugin is turned on by all sites and they cannot turn it off.

If a plugin is not network activated, then it’s permitted for each site to turn it on or off as they like.
