WP Spam Shield plug-in

I have a message in the Site Health section of the dashboard…..

A PHP session was created by a session_start() function call. This interferes with REST API and loopback requests. The session should be closed by session_write_close() before making any HTTP requests.

I have WP Spam Shield plug-in running on my site. If I de-activate this plug-in the message goes away. I assume this plug-in is causing the conflict and warning message.

please advise
