WP-SpamShield” removed from www.ads-software.com?

Generally, if a plugin has been removed from www.ads-software.com and isn’t available on a reputable website, just don’t use it. Simple as that. MTN

This plugin has indeed been removed from the WordPress Plugin repository.

We have looked at the code in this plugin and found that it contains code that would automatically disable another plugin; we believe this is the reason why it was removed from the repository.

Note that we have not vetted all the code in this plugin.

Can wfyann (@wfyann) let us know which plugin was being disabled?

This level of information would be very helpful, as wordfence gives the option of ignoring the warning, and if we know what not to use then we should be able to continue using wp-spamshield with confidence.
It would appear that the action to remove might have been a bit autocratic, mayhaps – see the link in post by stefaanvandamme (@stefaanvandamme)

It was disabling a plugin which had been deliberately disabling Spamshield. I use Spamshield and see no reason to disable it. The developer is reputable.

So where do we download it from. It is far better than any other spam filter on Worg. I hope someone can post a link here to share.

Such a great pity – the plugin is excellent! The developer obviously has problems with the reason it was removed.

Tried to get it from the develper’s site – but the zip is not the correct one – perhaps someone can contact the developer to put up a proper download site?

Shipstation plugin for WooCommerce was having serious issues with the WP-Spamshield plugin. Shipstation plugin would pull WooCommerce orders to the shipstation site but then when trying to push completed order tracking back to WooCommerce through an endpoint – WP-Spamshield was doing some crazy stuff like 404 errors and sending a HTML response back instead of XML. Finally narrowed it down by disabling all plugins and found WP-Spamshield was the culprit.

According to their post on their website – www.ads-software.com leadership and Akismet eliminating its competition. They are selling their plugin for $28 on codecanyon.
