Wp-Stats not transferring

I was using wp-stats on a site and it prompted me to upgrade to jetpack. So I clicked the enable jetpack option and it disabled the wp-stats as to be expected.

However after 20-30 mins when the stats started working they had not brought over any stats from WP-stats and were just tracking new visits.

I have turned off jetpack and reenabled wp-stats.

How do I get the stats from WP-stats to move over to Jetpack stats?

The site URL has not changed. I tried deactivating jetpack, reactivating wp-stats, then deactivating it and reactivating jetpack but no luck!
