• Hi

Has WP made an official statement about the end of day reset problem with the stats?

Last week (Thursday by most accounts), the daily stats started resetting at UTC+2 (or 3) hours as opposed to using the settings in the blog.

I don’t know how widespread it is, but a couple of other bloggers I’ve contacted have this problem and it’s been discussed in the forums.

Right now, the daily stats and the graphs are out of synch. The graphs seem to be obeying the timezone settings, while the stats are not.

Has the root of the problem been identified and is a solution on the way?

Not that I’m aware of. But. Have you upgraded to the newest version?

I would presume they’d put news up on jetpack.me

    Hi Thanks for the reponse.

I’m not using Jetpack so I’m not sure how this pertains to the problem? Can you clarify?

Also, can you confirm that there is a problem with WP stats that started on or around Thursday of last week?

I’m suddenly seeing this message: Your WordPress.com account, cualumdotorg is not authorized to view the stats of this blog.

    ?

Thought maybe it was the API key, got a new key from Akismet.com, same problem.

Use the Jetpack plugin instead of wp-stats.

Thank you esmi! I’ll do that.

Ah. Well. WP.com Stats was ‘folded’ into Jetpack, so I THINK if you wanna keep using it, you’ll need to uninstall it and install Jetpack instead.

Jetpack appears to be the replacement – it went in without a hitch, came on without an explosion, jumped up and licked my face. I kinda miss the line graph but bar charts are fine. Seems faster too. THANK YOU WORDPRESS.COM!

    Doogman (and others),

Did you uninstall WP-Stats before installing Jetpack? Did you lose your old stats?

You don’t lose your stats, because they’re on wordpress.com’s server ??

You WILL loose any tracking that would have occurred in between the uninstall and new install.

Nope. The Jetpack plugin turned it off automagically. My stats are intact.

Even after installing JetPack, stats are still a mess. Since last Thursday, mine are doing two things: (1) stats start showing for the next day at around 9:00 p.m. on the current day, and (2) they vary wildly during the day – for instance at about 3:00 this afternoon I had 878 visits for today – at 4:45 that number is 633. They go up and down like this all day long.

Would REALLY appreciate some resolution to this problem by WordPress.

My “most popular posts” widget stopped working. Did any of you experience that, and did the Jetpack install fix it if so?

There are a lot of “un-cool” things that have happened with the WordPress.com Stats / JetPack plugins.

This is not like Automattic/Wordpress to release such rubbish with out testing it first.

It appears that the JetPack update has broken a lot of peoples stat display in their blogs and on WordPress.com. I do not have consistent results amongst the blogs I’m managing and over half of them I do not have access to their WordPress.com stats anymore without JetPack.

JetPack is intrusive and illogical based on what I have seen WordPress do in the past. WordPress spent all that effort on UI and now they slap this JetPack menu item in.

The whole “JetPack” sub menu makes no sense to my clients who are using WordPress. They are simple users, not WordPress Geeks and do not understand this poorly executed “branding” exercise.

I have also read that JetPack could be breaching the WordPress ToS for plugins!?

There is no clear update from either WordPress.com Stats or JetPack on the problems people are facing.

    Sloppy.

I hope they can resolve these issues quickly in the normally very pro WordPress style.

LanaAnn, did you uninstall wordPress.com stats first? That sounds l ike the problems people had when they did not.

Adebarros, yes. I have seen others with this issue. File a report here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

Jandal, it’s definitely not for everyone. In my tests, if you never had wordPress.com stats or the other plugins, it works great. Upgrading from the many disparate plugins to Jetpack has been a “mostly effective” journey. It is not in violation of the Plugin Policies, though.

And no, I don’t use Jetpack on any of my sites. I have one site I help a friend with that i may need to install it, but personally it’s not for me.

If you want another stats plugin, try Woopra or Google Analytics.
