wp-super-cache ambiguously complaining about premissions

  • WP Super Cache Manager
    Error: Your cache directory (../wp-content/cache/) or ../wp-content need to be writable for this plugin to work.
    Double-check it.
    Cannot continue… fix previous problems and retry.

    /wp-content/cache/ – 777 – Check
    /wp-content – 777 – Check

    Both directories have drwxrwxrwx permissions.

    My site https://slnieckova.sk uses a lot of pages and I need caching because th site is very slow without it. wp-super-cache worked great for me but it started to complain after the latest upgrade/maintenance.
