    The plug in was deactivated, and I tried to delete it and it corrupted my site. The server people restored it and I tried to delete the plug in again, and the bug was back. Nothing shows up on my whole website but this (some info ****’d out):

  • How did you try to delete it? Via FTP? Via the plugins page?

    1. Use FTP to access your site
      bv. https://filezilla-project.org/download.php
    2. rename all plugins by putting a ‘0’ in front of each plugin -folder;
      ../wp-content/plugins
    3. Check if the access has been restored
    4. If so: one-by-one, remove the ‘0’, checking every time to see if the problem re-occurs.
    5. when the problem re-occurs, you’ve found the source of the problem; Delete and find a working replacement.
    6. alternatively: FTP:Delete; Then download and install / activate a NEW version and see if this works.

    I’ve just experienced the exact same problem – just tried to delete and uninstall using the Plugin uninstall option, and my whole site has disappeared. Was there a solution to this?

    I contacted my server host and the technician had to delete the folder.

    incase this happens to anyone else (stupid wp super cache).

    What this did to me is erase the <?php on top of the wp-config file, so essentially my wp-config file was just text, obviously that’s a big problem.

    Once I added the <?php back to the beginning of the file. It came back to life. Hope this helps someone. Good luck.

    WP Super Cache just broke my site too, I couldn’t access the plugins page until I deleted the plugin via ftp. Really unimpressed.

    Wow, you saved my ass!!! What happened was I simply deleted the WP Super Cache cache and the website I was building went all white, Godaddy.com was worthless even though they recommend I install WP Super Cache. Not sure what broke. I changed the WP Super Cache plugin file name as you suggested and that did the trick. Then deleted the WP Super Cache plugin, not going to reinstall that’s for sure.

    Thanks again for your post, must appreciated. I presented the website to my client an hour ago, he couldn’t see the changes, so I deleted the cache via WP Super Cache and the website disappeared before his very eyes, what a huge nightmare that was, glad it is fixed.
