WP Super Cache plugin: "zend_mm_heap corrupted" and core dumps

Enabling WP Super Cache plugin makes the Apache web server generate errors:
zend_mm_heap corrupted
and core dumps.
Disabled the plugin for now, and problems are gone.I’m using Apache version httpd-2.2.3-53.el5.centos.3, WordPress version 3.3.1, and WP Super Cache version 1.0.
