WP SVG Icons v3 under development
-
WP SVG Icons v3 is currently under development, and will add support for a slew of new features.
Many users are reporting the issue that custom icon packs aren’t working, or that they are displaying squares instead of the intended icon. This will be fixed in the upcoming release, and we’re building in support for icons to be added directly from the post/page edit screens.
We are also considering building in support for adding icons to menus from the menu edit screen.
The new version will also have options to allow you to toggle on and off the loading of style sheets, to prevent the un-necessary loading of style sheets you don’t currently need.
With all that being said, the new plugin will be using class names, much in the same way Font Awesome and the WordPress bundled Dashicons do. This is a much more clean and common sense approach in terms of UI.
If you have any other feature requests before v3 drops, I’d love to hear about them below. Any ways this plugin could be constructed to make your lives easier? I’m all ears.
