WP to Twitter Fails to Shorten URL – renders tweet unusable

I’ve had trouble with this plugin since installing it. While I had only the repeated error message with the previous version of WP, now the tweets are unintelligible.

I’ve tried removing and reinstalling this more than once with no good effect.

I also run Thesis and a number of other plugins on my site.
