    Hi Tobias,

I’m currently migrating over a site to a new web network that I’ve joined and we have everything transferred over correctly except my 333 Tablepress tables (IDs 1-333).

I tried a Tablepress csv export/import to the new site but found that the table numbering was affected because I had 7 tables deleted in my original installation. So the new install only had tables numbered 1-327, and the numbering for all ended up being off. I would have had to go through my 400+ posts one-by-one and update the table IDs in the shortcodes. Plus, the csv file didn’t contain my table titles, descriptions, and other customizations.

I then thought I’d do a WP Tools > XML export of the Tablepress files. The xml contains the titles and other data I’d like to transfer over. After resetting the last_id to 0 in options.php I tried to import the xml file. BUT I still get an error that the table IDs already exist (1-333).

Do I need to purge a database table or something in addition to resetting last_id to 0?

    Many thanks,
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

To use the WP Tools XML export/import, you’ll indeed have to delete all TablePress tables first. The best way for such a fresh start would then be to uninstall TablePress again, via the corresponding button on the “Plugin Options” screen. That basically removes all traces of the plugin, and you can then start over fresh.

To get the table IDs just like on the old site, the CSV format will indeed not work. However, you could use the JSON format in the TablePress export here. That will export/import all data, settings, ID, etc. of the tables and move them to the new site.
The WP Tools XML way should however also work.

    Regards,
    Tobias

I used JSON import/export and it worked following the last_id reset to 0. Thanks again Tobias.
