WP-United keeps disconnecting

We’re having a weird problem where WP-United keeps getting disconnected every few hours, but there’s nothing in the log files to indicate what’s going on to cause it. At first I thought it was happening when Apache was rotating logs, but that’s not the case.

How can I find out what’s causing WP-United to disconnect?
