WP Uploading to the Wrong Folder

  • I move WordPress for a website to a new folder on my hosting account and everything is working great except WP is still uploading new media files to the old folder. I can see the media files on my hosting account. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

  • Try resetting your permalink structure – just go to Settings >Permalinks – you don’t need to actually make any changes, just click the “Save” button.

    This will often fix problems where WP is confused about where things are located, as it forces WP to re-examine and save path information.

    No luck, but your suggestion makes sense. Any other ideas on how to fix this problem?

    Fixed it. I just realized you can manually fix the upload directory under Settings>Media and simply update the “Store uploads in this folder”.
