• I designed https://www.sb3ireland.com as an information site for Irish sailors who own the popular Laser SB3 sportboat (70 in the country).

Theme is a stripped down Kubrick and comments are turned off–the Forum, when finished, will provide a means for sailors to argue. I’m not interested in moderating Comments from outsiders.

Happy to hear your suggestions and critiques,

    Bob, in Dublin

  • I feel the front page is a little long, too much scrolling, but otherwise the layout and text is clear and easy to read.

The sailboat pic shows clearly what the site is about.

This isn’t exactly wordpress related, but consider using an RSS plugin for PHPbb, to make a thread in a designated forum for every blog post.

It’s a good way to focus discussion of individual posts into a single thread, leaving the rest of the forum for off-topic stuff.

    Just a thought ??

Samgreen–thanks, the target audience is about 250 persons, each of whom I reckon will keep in touch as committed readers, thus the long scroll should not be an issue for them.

Ivovic–that’s a good idea, I will follow up…though the forum will more likely be webwiz…trying to port/copy the existing UK forum (irish section only) at https://www.lasersb3com onto our own new Irish site, a sort of virtual UDI.
