WP user name and account problems…

  • Hi. I have a WP account at https://roresteen.wordpress.com/. I was given a user name and password. Check. I also want to install WP 2.0 on some of my sites that are being developed. After uploading the 2.0 folder and going thought the “non-5 minute install”, I can’t seem to log on those sites to modify the blogs. I get “no such user name in database” error.

    OK. I remember that when I first went through the install process that it gave me user names and passwords and to write them down and don’t lose them. Well, I did.

    Being brilliant, I thought I would just go to the server, remove the WP 2.0 folder and upload a fresh copy…when I went to set it up again it said for me that I apparently already have a WP installation and maybe to delete the data bases…

    So – does this mean if I go to my site host and erase the mapped data base, I can be free of the first installation and start over?
