WP Website, I'm ready for your critiques

I like it! Very nice photos! I’m not a huge fan of the scrolling bar on the bottom and I thought the left sidebar looked too generic – not what you’d expect for the quality of photos! You have talent! But overall the links worked fine, the photos are fantastic, and it’s definitely a good start. You have over 4,000 likes already! How’d you do that?

As for the horizontal scroll, I think that is just a photographers thing, cause I love it, and most photographers and art directors do too…but its a personal preference.

And the theme I built my theme off of had a sidebar that was incredible generic, so in order to make my site a little prettier, I thought the transparency and making it static helped to stand out a bit from the rest. There is not alot I can do on that front, or nothing I can think of atleast, to pretty it up.

And thanks for looking at my work, I’m glad you like it. I’ve been at it for a long time, and a bit of a wiz when it comes to marketing, so that is how I have been able to get so many Likes on FB.

Well if you have marketing pointers, I’m all ears! I agree about the horizontal scroll, I have seen it a lot on photography sites, like you mentioned. It’s a great start! Especially with all those likes already – I’m jealous! hehe

I mean, for marketing, I’m a firm believe to promote yourself whenever possible, and post interesting content.

If I get a friend request from someone, I have a tendency to write on their wall, thanking them for the FR, and ask that they go look at my work and like my page if they like what they see.

It usually will get them to like it, and one or two of their FB friends as well. You gotta shamelessly self promote yourself from time to time ??

Excellent site! I like the horizontal scrolling a lot. But yes, maybe the only thing up for a change is the menu. Other then that, very good work!

Very nice site. I like the horizontal scroll but to me, it is a bit slow. I think that there is a fine line between the right speed and so slow that people lose interest. I found it a bit too slow to want to wait. Since scrolling is controlled by the buttons, you might want to speed it up just a little. The visitor can always stop it where they want.

I visited your site before reading the above comments, and was sitting waiting for your pictures to slide automatically, then I clicked back and read the comments. I went back and saw the horizontal scroll bar. I don’t know if others will find the problem, or maybe I am just daft. The site is lovely and your photos are gorgeous. Once I worked out how it works, I was impressed. It would be better if the scroll buttons weren’t over your menu though? Overall great site!
