WP wont let me install a second blog

  • I lost my password to the blog I installed to first (www.videoer.no), so I deleted the database in MYSQL, then re-installed WP. WP then builds the database. Everything ok so far. But when I try to log on but I get this error message:

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ‘,’ or ‘;’ in /home/videoer/www/wp-admin/post.php on line 523

    I have also a second blog which uses the same database. The address to this is https://www.videoer.no/blog This blog works fine btw.

    Maybe the solution could be to get my web hotel providor to make a new database on the MYSQL server?

    Do you have any plugins or hacks installed? If so, try disabling them.

    No, I dont have any plugins or hacks installed. I am an newbie in WP.

    What are you using to upload the files ?

    Use FileZilla or another plain ftp program – do NOT use anything like GoLive / DW or other such stuff.

    Delete ‘post.php’
    Upload a new one.

    If the problem persists it is either your ftp program or the unzipping program.

    I have used both Golive and Transmit to upload the files to my first blog. That worked excellent. I use Golive to edit the css file. To change the wp-config file i use TextEdit.

    But hurray, I have now uploaded all the original wordpress files with the FTP program Transit and it worked! I have now 2 different blogs with different posts! So I guess you are right about not using Golive or DW! Thanks!!!

    With the amount of errors it produces, ‘GoLive’ somehow seems a little inappropriate ??
