The site looks fine, admin looks fine. But when I try to update, the updates don’t stick. I make my changes, click on “Update”, the page returns, the changes have disappeared in the admin and no sign of them on the live site.
Yes, I have posted before. I got no replies. I must go live soon and I’m getting desperate. Please help! ??

First thing you can try is disabling your plugins and test your changes with another browser and / or clear your cache.

OK, now I go back and I can see the header and sidebars on the front page, but “Not Found It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try a search?” Nothing. And no admin: “One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired.” but when I repair it, it says the same.

What I feel like doing now is starting over, ie install a new version of WP, but connect to my existing database, which I know has all my pages intact. Can you help with a link to some instructions for this?

Same problem here. “Can′t make folder” “Update failed”. I′ve emptied my log and deactivated plugins.

It’s possible that I didn’t need to re-install. I got the same problem. My ISP pointed out that I had the wrong path in my settings, after I moved the site into a subfolder. It was an easy fix after all.

    Which path?

Hi again, is there a simple way to fix my problem with updating to 4.4.2? I still get the message “Can′t make folder”, and as you would understand, I’m an amateur.. Neither do other updates succeed

In this thread the permissions and htaccess are discussed as a solution.

dimitris33, I meant the WordPress address and the site address (Settings > General).
I also had to fix Settings > Media > Store uploads in this folder.
This is because I moved the WP site into a subfolder.
