WP2.5 RC1: Post by Email with images attached

  • Seems that the error posting via email with attachments or in rich text is still around.

    – Posting with a rich text email will result in only the subject line appearing as a title. the body of the email/post will not appear.

    – emailing a photo to the blog will not post the image either.

    I have tried this with an iPhone without success. Then tried with Thunderbird using simple text email only. with t-bird and no attachments, everything is as expected. Adding an image, the mime type isn’t correctly handled.

    Is there a workaround? I travel lots (too much). I really want to be able to post images and content while on the road.

    the new UI is slick, but it would be great to see some of the broken features fixed.

  • Great question… how does someone post an email with a photo. All the older plugins seem outdated and not supported.

    This is where I’ve been beating my head against the wall for a few hours. NOBODY seems to have an answer for this beyond “use flickr.” It seems like I should be able to snap a picture, and send an email with no fuss. Bummer.

    Have you tried Postie? i’ve been using it for just that purpose, and it’s working great. Feature limited and no longer supported, but it works.
