WP3.0 and subdomains

Yes. But the question is, which is better. I think I like the directories better. I am no expert on this topic. Thoughts and reasons one way or the other?

I like the subdomain style better for esthetic reasons and the blog feels more separate from the main domain.

Just like on WordPress.com a subdomain feel like: “I have my own place, hosted by someone else”. A directory is part of the main site and not a separate place for a distinct blog.

I think that is also why most big sites (like google) use subdomains for things that are really distinct from each other.

But to answer my question; if it is possible; how do I do it?

That is in the code it gives you back if it doesn’t have direct access to modify your files. But it will ask you which you want and then give you that code to install in your wp-config.php so follow the directions. I have gotten it to work, sometimes. I screwed up some other things. Five out of seven installs worked for me. :}

Actually, the choice between subdomains or subfolder blogs is on the Network install screen.
