wp_add_dashboard_widget shows error

  • I noticed that in 5.0-beta1-43823 all dashboard widgets created using wp_add_dashboard_widget display the errormessage
    This meta box, from the <plugin name> plugin, isn't compatible with the block editor.
    This message is misplaced, because there is nothing to edit in the widget.

    How can the plugin author prevent this error, or is it just a wp bug?
