    Hello,

I have installed the Autoptimize CriticalCSS.com Power-Up plugin, but the status for all the files in the job queue remain at “N”. I get the message: “WordPress cron (for task scheduling) seems to be disabled.”

However, when I check with WP Control it shows the cron jobs are listed and current. But I also get the error “The DISABLE_WP_CRON constant is set to true. WP-Cron spawning is disabled.”

The problem is, WP Cron is not disabled in wp-config and all of the other cron events (such as wordfence and jetpack) are working without problem. Do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

    this

    > The DISABLE_WP_CRON constant is set to true. WP-Cron spawning is disabled

is not in AO CCSS codebase, so this confirms

    > WordPress cron (for task scheduling) seems to be disabled.

which is indeed a AO CCSS notice.

    so questions:
-> can you check with your hoster if they are running a system-level cron instead
-> can you enable “debugging” in “advanced settings” and provide me with your site’s URL so I can review the debug-file?

    Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. I’ve enabled debugging and the site is malehealthreview.com.

I will contact my hosting provider as well.

    Thanks again.

    hey JoynerEnterprises;
I reviewed the queue log (ao_ccss/queue.log in wp-content/uploads) and there is no sign of life from the queue processing job I’m afraid (it normally logs at least start & stop of the job + actions taken + possible issues). This confirms that there _is_ an issue with the job not being triggered by (wordpress) cron. Can you confirm AO_CCSS_QUEUE is listed in the WP-Cron Events page? What is the “Next Run” timestamp?

Yes, today I see that the next run time stamp is for yesterday’s date, so clearly the cron job isn’t being triggered. My hosting provider is checking into it.

Is it possible to switch to real cron jobs using this plugin? Is it necessary for the plugin to run every 10 minutes or can it be scheduled for longer intervals?

Is it possible to switch to real cron jobs using this plugin?

as per the FAQ switching to system based cron is preferred, but there is no separate URL to trigger the AO CCSS job queue processing job I’m afraid.

Is it necessary for the plugin to run every 10 minutes or can it be scheduled for longer intervals?

you can run at longer intervals, but the result will be that it will take longer for rules to become active and your job queue might become big that way.

Well, I don’t yet know what the initial problem was with the hosting provider, but I’ve switched to system based cron and everything seems to be working now as it should.

    Thanks for all the help!
