• Hello,
I use wp_dropdown_categories in order to offer a category navigation tool on my homepage.
Trouble is, when Google crawls my site, it does not “follow” these categories, so the whole content of my site is not indexed!
    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  • I have no idea how to correct your specific problem but have you thought of using the google-sitemap-generator plugin to create a sitemap in your root directory for Google & others to search.
https://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=40318 is quite a useful source of information. If you have not explored Googles site you should find it useful as you can submit your site map details to google so they know where to look (see recommended articles in the top right of the screen).
You can also create a blank robots.text file putting the line
    Sitemap: https://www.mydomain.com/sitemap.xml
in it pointing to your newly created sitemap. Apparently this may help some robots to find your sitemap.

    Just my 5 pence.

Excellent. Thats pretty much where I have arrived as well.
    Thanks a lot.
