wp_post not sorting posts

I have called some posts from a particular category id on a template page. i am getting posts by get_posts() method. from there i am not getting posts in sort order. i need to sort posts of each category on different pages. keep in mind i am using a template each has different category/term id. i am not using category page for this. please help me
