WP_Query and Read More on index

    Usually I’m pretty good at rooting out problems with WordPress, but this one’s got me puzzled.

    So here’s where I’m at:

    • This involves the first of several wp_query loops on index.php
    • Running a local install of 3.2.1 (so obviously no link)
    • I’ve got this (pastebin) ‘Read More’ snippet in functions.php (which works great on archives.php, etc.)
    • I’ve got this (pastebin) WP_Query on my index page

    And I’m not getting any Read More link on my index page. Is WordPress looking for something in the $args array that I’m not supplying? Appreciate any help.
