Hello! I have just done a test with all plugin turned off and only turn on referral. It generates 3 errors in WordPress site health test:

An active PHP session was detected
The REST API encountered an error
Your site could not complete a loopback request

So I think there might be something wrong. Hope it could help in resolving the problem soon.

I get the same errors. Did not trouble shoot the issue, I’m still in alpha testing. LOVE the plugin. Hope it’s resolved before I go live. Would love to ” buy the developer a drink” to help.

    Happy new year

Hello, thanks for taking the time and reporting. it’s much appreciated. in init hook plugin uses sessions to store user’s ref code. there isn’t much going on there. I wasn’t able to recreate the performance issue.
however, in the new version, I’m going to switch sessions with cookies which seems to perform better for many people and opens new doors to implement features. and it will help with other issues you’ve mentioned.
