I used to have one WP.org website (at https://www.quisqueya.nl), connected to my WP.com account, for Jetpack. I have recently made a copy of my site on another domain (https://www.taaleidoscoop.nl), to separate the blog and two other pages from the rest of the content.

Jetpack and WP.com still see both sites as one, and only one of them ever shows up on https://en.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ I think both sites still share the same Blog ID.

I want to be able to administer both sites as separate entities, also in Jetpack and the WP.com interface. Can someone help me fix this, please? I know a little bit about the innards of WP, but this is beyond my capacities. ??

I think I may lose the stats for one of these sites, once they get separate Blog IDs. If possible, I’d like to retain the current stats with the https://www.taaleidoscoop.nl domain, and start the other site afresh.

    Thanks so much!

Update: I tried disconnecting both sites from WP.com and then reconnecting them. Now both sites show up under My Blogs, but the posts & pages are associated with the wrong domain…

I guess each website now has its own Blog ID with WP.com, but the stats are still tracking the old domain, which is not where the posts are now. Also, the new site’s pages and posts are not showing up in My Blogs (yet?).

I think Jetpack support is up and running again, so I’m just bumping up my own question.

Could someone help me resolve this issue, please?

    Thank you!

Strangely enough, the iOS WordPress app does seem to show each site’s info (no. of pages & posts) correctly. What could be going wrong at the https://en.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ end?

Stats, however, are still all mixed up. I’d like to retain all the old stats at the taaleidoscoop.nl domain, and start quisqueya.nl afresh.

Can one of the Happiness Engineers help me, please?

    Thanks!

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Hi there! Sorry for the delay!

Could you try to disconnect and reconnect to WordPress.com once again? I have made some changes to your Jetpack settings on both sites, and reconnecting will assign the stats to the correct sites.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jeremy!

Thank you for stepping in. I may need you again, though.

I’ve disconnected and reconnected both sites from WordPress.com, but the same stats still show up for both. And at My Blogs, I now only see the quisqueya.nl site, with incorrect post and page numbers.

Thanks again for helping me resolve this.

    Update:

I’ve again disconnected and reconnected both sites. Now the taaleidoscoop.nl site shows up under My Blogs, but with the wrong no. of pages and posts.

Trying to connect quisqueya.nl gives this error message: “Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.”

Do you know what this means, Jeremy?

Update again: when I tried again, the connection was made! But now only quisqueya.nl is shown in My Blogs; taaleidoscoop.nl has disappeared.

Would it help if I completely removed and then reinstalled the plug-in on one of the domains? I’m afraid I’d lose all my data if I did that…

I’ve made another change, and both sites are not properly linked to your WordPress.com account. Let me know if you need more help!

Thank you so much for helping, Jeremy!

I’m afraid things are not working well yet… ??

The Taaleidoscoop site is now screwed up: all links to media seem to be broken! The site has no visuals and even the Dashboard keeps on loading indefinitely, trying to find the picture files. The names are still there in the media library, but no images.

The stats within Jetpack seem to be in order, with the Quisqueya site showing many fewer views that the Taaleidoscoop site. But… on the Dashboard under Site Stats, the Quisqueya site shows as Top Posts pages and posts that are not even on that site, and the Taaleidoscoop site shows nothing at all, asking me to configure the stats first.

This is very confusing to a non-techie like me. But the fact that one of the sites now has no images is most disturbing. I hope you can figure out what’s going on here.

Thank you again for all your help!

    >> Correction: just after I typed this, I tried again, and now the site does have its images again. And the Site Stats are back up again too. The Quisqueya site is still showing stats for pages it doesn’t have, though.

    >> Add-on: I forgot to mention that the My Blogs page at WordPress.com still shows the wrong no. of pages and posts for each site. Is there some way to reset this?

    Hold on…

Jeremy, I have a question. The pages and posts on my Taaleidoscoop site used to be under the Quisqueya domain. There are now 301 redirects in place to send visitors on to the new site. Could THAT be why they’re still showing up in the stats, even though the actual pages and posts are no longer there?

If so, that solves this little mystery.

What I still do not understand is how the WordPress iOS app is showing correct page and post counts for both sites, but the My Blogs overview at WordPress.com isn’t…

It seems you’ve disconnected and reconnected Jetpack to WordPress.com on one site, but not on the other.

Could you go to the Jetpack menu here, and disconnect, then reconnect to WordPress.com?

Done! I’m pretty sure that I did this before, though. Or should I wait a few minutes before reconnecting?

Let me know what you can see at your end. I just checked, and My Blogs is still showing the incorrect info. Stats for both sites are different, though, which is encouraging. (Quisqueya is still showing stats/hits for pages that don’t exist but are linked through 301 redirects to the other site.)

I’m afraid that’s still not correct. You might want to deactivate or clear your caching plugin, because it may be creating conflicts.
Could you let me know once you have done so?

    Thanks!

Okay… I have W3 Total Cache installed, so I deactivated that. Next, I disconnected and reconnected both sites to Jetpack. Has this helped?

    Thanks again!

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

That’s indeed much better now. Both sites are linked to the proper set of data on WordPress.com. Since both sites were mixed up for a little while, it might have created wrong entries in your stats, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to remove these entries.
