WP.com to WP.org, Same Domain, Cannot login to WP.org

  • I transferred my domain to a GoDaddy account and purchased the WordPress hosting through them as well. I have WP installed on the server, but I cannot figure out how to access the WP.org tools. When I login to my site at anniefrey.com/wp-admin, it takes me to my WP.com dashboard.

    I’m looking to install a new premium theme on the site which I uploaded to my server through FileZilla, but I cannot access the theme since I cannot see my WP.org dashboard.

  • Your domain name still points to wordpress.com
    Nameservers :
    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com

    You need change name servers so that it points to Go Daddy

    I’m experiencing the same problem, but I want to work on the new site behind the scene, i.e. transfer all the content and re-organize it with a new theme, before flipping the switch and make the new site go live. Is it possible?

    yes you host provides you with a temp url you can use that until you ready to change the name servers.
    You will need to change urls in settings>>>General when you ready from temp url to your domain name
