    Hi bolhaimobiliaria,
Ok, for a very large amount of comments we’re currently changing wpdiscuz.php, it’ll work very fast and with minimum requests. Please wait for a few hours and we’ll update it. For now you can use 2.2.10 version to show comments on front-end.

    No problems

On moment, a have a test plataform only, no production ??

Hi, since this topic is current, how will this plugin handle large comment databases?

Ours has 3.5+ million comments and before I try to use this, I need to understand if if will even work! I have a test site, but my goal would be to get this running on the production site this week, if possible.

    Thanks.

If comments are all optimized wpDiscuz will work with unlimited number of comments. So you can start those optimization even without updating wpDiscuz. Once all is done you can go to Dashboard and update to latest version. The comment optimization process doesn’t affect other plugins, even wpDiscuz 2 version. You can start optimization right now.

It may take a few hours for 3.5+ million comments. You can start with 100 comments per page load… During the optimization process if it stops loading (500 error) you should change to 50 comment per page and so on… It depends on server, if it’s a weak server you can go with 5-10 comments per page.

Thanks, I installed it on the test server and began optimization. Time to go make a quick shrimp curry for lunch while it processes!

    Great!
Periodically keep an eye on that process. As I said above during the optimization process, it may stops loading (500 error). So you should decrease the number of comments after each error. I hope your server is powerful and you’ll not have to change that.

Now, I use the web solution

But, the server responde 502, for 1 comment !
I will adapter the original script for CLI

    bolhaimobiliaria,
it seems this is not the optimizer issue. Something is not regular on your server. please read this as well: https://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/502error.htm#inArticleVideo

Maybe, the problem is much threads for a only comment.
After 2.6 minutes, the server return 502.

I will increase default values for my server

Retracted. Think I am seeing progress.

    Plugin Author gVectors Team

    (@gvectors-team)

    Great to hear that!

    getmechamot

    (@getmechamot)

So, the optimizing does not appear to be working as I am not seeing progress after multiple starts, server reboots, etc. No progress no error messages.

I did try the downloaded one and it doesn’t run for me – I get error 500 and never see the Go button.

Any ideas? This plugin is perfect for our needs!

    (@gvectors-team)

If you see 500 error you should click on browser [back] button than in address bar change the “n” variable to e.g. 10:
    wpdiscuz.php?n=10&cid=xxxx
    than [enter]

Also I just want to let you know, we’re preparing a new version without this optimization step, it does this optimization automatically, for each loaded comment separately on first comment load. You’ll not see how all your comments are being optimized. That’s very good solution, and that will not bother you. this will be released in within next 24-36 hours.

Thanks, it now seems to be working! I’ll reach out tomorrow if it’s still a problem!
