This is my first website. My goal was just to set up a simple website listing my ebooks with a newsletter sign-up form. That has been set up.

I have my domain email set up with Microsoft Outlook. My newsletters will be sent out via Mailerlite and I have authenticated my Outlook domain email there.

My WP Form contact signup form is set up to send an email to my Microsoft domain email (I handle adding the new subscriber emails at Mailerlite manually; there aren’t that many). I tested out the WPForms sign up form and it appears to work correctly.

My question: I’ve seen comments about WP Mail SMTP. I see that on my dashboard as a setting under WPForms. I’ve not set that up! Do I need to set that up? I’m concerned about new subscribers contact information not being sent to my Outlook account despite my test working okay because that’s not been set up. Or is having Outlook as my domain email totally fine as is?

As mentioned, this is my first website and it was a frustrating learning experience; would greatly appreciate reassurance and/or further instructions. Do I need to set up WP Mail SMTP?

  • Hey @medspeaking,

We recommend our users install and configure WP Mail SMTP along with a reliable mailer to improve the probability of email delivery. However, since you’ve set up a signup form that comes in the paid version of WPForms, if you have an active license subscription with us, could you please submit a support ticket through the WPForms account dashboard when you have a chance?

From there, our support team will be able to take a closer look at your request.

    Thanks!

    Hey @medspeaking,

We haven’t heard back from you in about a week, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
