I use WPForms Lite on twelve dealer website’s that I manage. Yesterday one dealer called to say his customers were complaining that they could not submit the form from his website. We narrowed it down to his customers who use IOS devices. We tested and he was correct, IOS phones did not enable when SUBMIT was pressed but my Android phone works as does from a PC and the form from the website has been enabled for several years. Just want to know if there is something I can do to remedy this or a suggestion to get IOS devices to work properly? I see from looking online that this IOS problem has been going on for several years and for several other developers and contact form plug-ins. The website is https://www.allenorgantn.com and all plug-ins, Theme and WordPress are up to date.

Thank you in advance. Please email me directly with a response.

Hey @rbjork – Thanks for reaching out!

I tested the page you’ve shared, and it seems that the form won’t submit on the regular Desktop browsers too. I took a closer look, and in the browser console I noticed the following error message along with a few others:

    POST https://www.allenorgantn.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php 404 (Not Found)https://www.allenorgantn.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.min.js?ver=3.6.1

    Here’s a screenshot.

When you get the chance, could you please try using the steps in WPBeginner’s detailed guide on troubleshooting WordPress to see if it helps resolve the issue?

    Kindly,

Hey @rbjork – We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!

Hello Prashant. Yes I did respond yesterday via your email. The Beginner Guide does not help as this seems to be an IOS issue with both mobile devices and Safari and there are no suggestions in the Beginner Guide for this problem. Any more suggestions to remedy this would be helpful. We do know that the form works with Firefox, Edge, Chrome and Android and our dealer is getting those forms when tested from those browsers. Seems as though Apple products have had this issue for a variety of WordPress contact forms for several years.

More testing today. Dealer website using WPForms on a different hosting server and the contact form using iOS did not Submit. Tried dealer sites that have SSL and they too did not Submit. None of my sites are using a Caching plugin. Firefox, Chrome, Edge and Android work however for all sites tested which most reside on our house server. The only dealer website of mine using WPForms that allows the form to Submit using iOS also has the SMTP plugin as well due to his particular email situation.

Hey @rbjork – Thanks for following on this ticket!

I inspected the form again in Edge and Chrome on Mac and I’m seeing the above error message that I shared previously. When you have some time, please try testing for a plugin or theme conflict and see if that works for you.

    Kindly,

03/17/23 – iOS FORM SUBMIT PROBLEM SOLVED! I found by simply turning off “Enable AJAX form submission”, within the WPForms General Settings panel at the bottom ADVANCED block, allowed for form submissions to SUBMIT to iOS devices.
