Hi, I cannot send 100% successfully using AMP. My goal is to send using AMP with recaptcha v3 enabled.

I have reviewed the other similar and/or same issues in this forum.

Site Health Info is pasted at the bottom of this message.

The site is a staging site hosted in Amazon Linux 2 within VMware workstation.

A minimal NGINX configuration is being used with the following activated plugins: AMP, AMP Enhancer, WP Mail SMTP and WPForms Lite.

Screen images can be accessed via the following URI: /documents/wpforms-test-with-amp.docx

I am using the simple contact form.

With AMP, I can send a message without both recaptcha v3 and antispam enabled, but the button remains stuck at “Sending”.

Without AMP and with both recaptcha v3 and antispam enabled, the form functions properly.

Error message with recaptcha v3 and/or antispam enabled:

MessageArray ( [message] => Antispam token is invalid. Please reload the page and try submitting the form again. Please check out our troubleshooting guide for details on resolving this issue. I received a test message.

Both recaptcha v3 and antispam are disabled.

    Hi @garrigan,

Thanks for reaching out and for all the details you’ve shared so far!

Please know that I was unable to reproduce the issue in a staging site for my tests.

For your reference, I created this screencast.

The issue might be related to the settings you’re using in the AMP and AMP Enhancer plugins. Please let me know the Template Mode you’re using in the AMP settings (screenshot) and any other relevant settings, as I’m using the default settings of those plugins.

I also recommend checking our guide here: Using WPForms with AMP. To use WPForms with AMP, you need to click on this message: “Go to the full page to view and submit the form.”

However, in one of your screenshots, you appended /?amp=1 to the URL, but the page is showing the form. With this, the alerts related to JavaScript files in the Console are expected, since AMP pages dequeue JavaScript files on the page.

    Thanks!

The following statements confirm WPForms does not properly function within an AMP page.

From the instructions, Using reCAPTCHA with WPForms and AMP, the following is technically incorrect.

If you wish to display the reCAPTCHA badge on your AMP pages, you’ll need to enable this in your reCAPTCHA settings.

    I watched the screencast video.

    Thank you for your time.

You confirmed the WPForms advertised capabilities are not entirely accurate.

We know ReCAPTCHA v3 will function with AMP as per the following setting from the Google reCAPTCHA v3 configuration: Then scroll down to the bottom of the settings page and select the checkbox next to?Allow this key to work with AMP pages.

By default, the AMP plugin appends/?amp=1?to AMP URL’s.

See the following: Why am I getting ?amp=1 at the URL end instead of /amp/ | www.ads-software.com

    Thread Starter garrigan

    (@garrigan)

Once again, thank you for your time, the screencast video, and your comments.

I agree that AMP by design does not function with the java scripts.

As I mentioned above, the WPForms advertised capabilities are not entirely accurate.

As we know, other people have also been misled about WPForms and AMP.

It is not your fault. I am not blaming you.

The advertising should clearly state that the forms from WPForms do not natively function within AMP pages. If an AMP page is detected, the following will be seen, you need to click on this message: “Go to the full page to view and submit the form”.

Lastly, I am available to continue this conversation. I will retain the VMware snapshot with the WPForms test configuration for one week, but the contact-me page will not be publicly available unless requested because I need to create content for other pages.

    Hi @garrigan,

I’d like to share some good news. We will release improvements to WPForms with Google reCAPTCHA v3 on AMP pages in version 1.9.0.

When we release the new version with these improvements, I will send an update.

Just a heads-up — I received feedback that the Google reCAPTCHA badge in the bottom-right corner only works on non-AMP pages. The Google reCAPTCHA v3 will function on AMP pages, but without that badge.

    Thanks!
